MEET THE TEAM

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR He/ Him

Joseph is an North-West Actor, Director and Playwright now based in Scotland. He studied Theatre Studies and Philosophy at The University of Glasgow, where he also Mastered in Feminist Philosophy.

As a performer Joseph has treaded many boards, notably, Liverpool's Royal Court and Glasgow's Citizens Theatre. He has played numerous roles up and down the North-West, from Sweeney Todd, to Mercutio, to Cain in The Chester Mystery Plays.

Joseph authored Tired Horses own Malion which debuted at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe.

ARTISTIC PRODUCER He/ They

Mikael is a Playwright, Performer, Producer, and Facilitator based in Glasgow. They are the Creative Director of Under the Rug Theatre in Scotland. To date, Mikael has written five full-length plays which they are in the process of publishing.

Mikael holds a BA(hons) in Philosophy and Theatre Studies, and an MLitt in Playwriting & Dramaturgy from the University of Glasgow.

They have worked with the Old Vic and the Scottish Youth Theatre on artist development programmes where they created two new pieces of work both independently and collaboratively.

CREATIVE CONTRIBUTOR She/ Her

Hannah has worked independently in film and tv for a number of years now, as a writer, actress, director and producer. She has won numerous awards for her work, and has worked on productions with BBC and Comedy Unit.

Her degrees include Photography, Graphic Design, and Digital Art.

Hannah has chosen to delve into the world of theatre to pursue another creative endeavour, and is extremely excited to join Under The Rug and Tired Horses Theatre on their future productions.
